what’s your free square?
Victoria Moran, author of Creating a Charmed Life, talks about the fact that every one of us has “a FREE square,” something like in Bingo, where each of us automatically gets something for nothing. You can take a look at a few of her ideas here.
Think about your FREE square as your special gift/talent. What do people admire you for? What are you particularly good at?
As a rule, we’re not used to thinking this way: we tend to get modest and say we don’t have any special gifts; when people compliment us, we downplay it, etc.
Tell us about your FREE square—even if you think you know (and especially if you don’t!), here’s an assignment:
Call, text, or email 10 people who know you well, and ask them:
- What do you think I’m particularly good at?
- What do you think I’m an expert in?
- If you came to me for advice, what would it be about?
Then let us know what you discovered in the comments below. You may have your own opinion confirmed … or you may be totally surprised!
